The lighthouse in Niechorze is an impressive structure that attracts tourists from all over the region. Built in 1866 on a 13-meter-high base, the structure stands out for its monumentality. With a height of 45 meters, it is the second largest lighthouse on the Baltic Sea.
The lighthouse's history was punctuated by World War II, when it was partially destroyed. After the war ended, it was successfully rebuilt, and the cliff shoreline was protected with concrete bands to counteract erosion.
Today, the lighthouse is open to the public, although 210 stairs must be climbed to reach the top. There is also a lovely garden with a two-meter hedge and a group of buildings surrounded by a brick wall. From one side, the lighthouse can be seen from a distance of several kilometers from the mainland, while from the other side, from the sea, only its upper part is highlighted.
