The Museum of Marine Fisheries in Niechorze is a fascinating place that takes us into the world of fishing and promotes fishing culture. It was established thanks to the commitment of the local community under the leadership of former fisherman Henryk Gmyrek.
The museum has been welcoming visitors since 1994 and from the very beginning has been presenting valuable exhibits, including fishing gear, boats, fish specimens, documents and photographs related to fishing, which come both from the collections of the Niechorze Elementary School and from local residents who have donated their gifts.
Over time, the museum's collection has grown significantly, and the institution has established contacts with other institutions, also becoming a meeting place for local activists. The museum offers a variety of permanent and temporary exhibitions that cover topics related to both sea and lake fishing.
